STUDENTS’ INTELLECTUAL BATTLES

The International University for the Humanities and Development, along with the country’s other higher education institutions, is actively engaged in organizing various interuniversity intellectual events. In collaboration with the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the University recently organized two online nationwide Olympiads – in Philosophy and Economics.

The Olympiads were open to higher education students, who have these subjects on the curriculum, as well as to anyone studying philosophy and economics on their own and wishing to take part in the competitions. A total of 500-plus students from our country’s 16 higher education institutions registered on the University’s website at iuhd.edu.tm with 350 students who entered the Economics Olympiad and 160 students – the Philosophy Olympiad.

To ensure the transparency, monitor the students while they were doing the tasks, and to guarantee fairness of the judges’ decision, the work of every contestant and their real-time performance progress were shown online during the Olympiads.

According to faculty members of the University, the number of students, who are willing to take part in intellectual competitions, continues to grow rapidly. Their zeal, enthusiasm, and desire to demonstrate their knowledge, intellectual and creative abilities are praiseworthy. Aside from that, online competitions enable more widespread use of digital educational platforms and help to boost interuniversity collaboration. This fully complies with objectives and requirements specified for the modern-day national education system.
