TURKMEN PISTACHIO TO STRENGTHEN IMMUNITY

With the onset of autumn, the body of each person needs to strengthen the immune system. Changes in weather, exposure to cold air and the spread of infections lead to negative health effects. To reduce the risk of colds, and to strengthen the immune system in the fall, you can use a balanced diet.

The prevalence of fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables in the diet will help overcome the negative effects of the period. Also, products containing calcium and protein will benefit the body - milk, yogurt, kefir, cheese, eggs, meat, chicken and fish. But nuts - walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts and pistachio can become a real panacea for many diseases. I would like to talk about the latter especially.

Pistachio has been used as a remedy since ancient times. In the old days, this nut was used to treat cough, nausea, vomiting, pain in the intestines and liver disease. In modern folk medicine, pistachio nuts are used for thinness, chest diseases and anemia.

From a scientific point of view, nut kernels have antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antineoplastic, analgesic and antidiabetic properties.

There are two types of pistachios in Turkmenistan – Badkhyz and common. And although the world leaders in the cultivation of pistachios are Iran and the United States, the «nuts of happiness» growing in the south of our country, which the Chinese call them, are in no way inferior in quality to the well-known Iranian ones.

Over the past four years, Turkmen specialists have been carrying out scientific and practical work on the cultivation of pistachio and almond trees. Plants are planted and taken care of annually. One of the largest natural massifs of Turkmen pistachios is located in the Badkhyz reserve.

The oily seed of a nutritious nut contains magnesium, zinc, potassium, manganese, copper, phosphorus, as well as B vitamins or biotin, which allows you to assimilate protein and burn fat, that is, it is key in metabolism. The high content of selenium in pistachios stimulates the immune system and, if salts of heavy metals act on the body, this element prevents poisoning.

To maximize the benefits of pistachios, consume up to 15 nuts a day. It is better for children to give no more than seven pistachios.
