AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN HONOR OF THE MEMORY OF THE PERSIAN POET FERDOWSI WAS HELD

The international scientific and educational conference in honor of the memory and work of the famous Persian poet Hakim Abulqasim Ferdowsi was held on May 31 in the assembly hall of the Turkmen National Institute of Foreign Languages named after Dovletmammet Azady.
The solemn event was attended by students and faculty of the Institute of Foreign Languages named after D.Azady, Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Gholam Abbas Arbab Khales, Iranian diplomats, teachers and scholars of the Persian language and literature, members of the public, as well as lovers and admirers of Persian literature in Turkmenistan.
Maral Kulyyeva, rector of the Turkmen National Institute of Foreign Languages named after Dovletmammet Azady, addressed the participants of the event with a congratulatory speech.
The head of the university greeted the participants and guests of this conference, spoke about the different stages of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Iran, especially in the field of humanitarian relations, cultural and academic cooperation.
Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Gholam Abbas Arbab Khales also highlighted the importance of the poet's work in his opening speech: “Hakim Abulqasim Mansur Hasan Firdowsi Tusi (Firdowsi) is a well-known representative of Iranian poetry. Ferdowsi is a Persian poet, a classic of Persian literature, the author of the epic poem Shahnameh (Book of Kings), is popular and is considered a national poet in Iran”.
The Iranian diplomat thanked the Government of Turkmenistan, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country, emphasizing that Iran and Turkmenistan are linked by ties of friendship, religion and traditions. At one time, the Turkmen poet Magtymguly also enjoyed and was inspired by the work of Abulqasim Firdowsi, which he repeatedly pointed out in his poems.
On the stage of the university, students presented a musical and theatrical production, which, through the animated images of literary heroes, took the participants to the time of the “Shahnameh” epic. The performance of the students of the Turkmen National Institute of Foreign Languages named after Dovletmammet Azady in Persian and the level of their knowledge of the Persian language impressed Iranian diplomats and teachers.
It should be noted that a joint Turkmen-Iranian cultural and art exhibition was also organized within the institute, which presented exhibits from a series of folk crafts, paintings, books, miniatures, needlework and applied arts of the Turkmen and Iranian peoples, as well as books of the Dear Hero - Arkadag, including those translated into dozens of languages of the world.
The conference, organized by the Turkmen National Institute of Foreign Languages named after Dovletmammet Azady and the Cultural Center at the Iranian Embassy in Ashgabat, continued with a cultural event, accompanied by a musical program, performances by Persian poetry readers, and a demonstration of stage images based on the plots of the “Shahnameh” epic.
