ORCHARD IN UCHDEPE VALLEY

Agriculture and horticulture are one of the new and promising areas of activity of the individual enterprise “Miweli ülke” in Mary velayat.

On an area of 12 hectares, an enterprise in the Uchdepe valley of the Vekilbazar etrap, located 80 kilometers from the cultural zone, has begun construction of a greenhouse for growing bananas and citrus fruits. Part of this land plot of 214 hectares was leased by the enterprise in 2020 in accordance with the decree of the President of Turkmenistan “On approval of the size of the special land fund for agricultural purposes”.

Entrepreneurs built a road and electricity to the leased area, leveled the sand dunes and began to develop the land.

Thanks to the scientific approach and the widespread use of local fertilizers, an additional plot suitable for agriculture was opened. Already today fruit trees grow on six hectares.

According to S. Hangulyyev, the head of IE “Miweli ülke”, more than 400 employees are currently working at the enterprise. The refrigerator for five thousand tons of products, the commissioning of which is timed to coincide with the 31st anniversary of the country's Independence Day, will open up even greater opportunities for the development of the enterprise.
