TURKMEN SCIENTISTS ARE DEVELOPING A TECHNOLOGY FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A NEW MATERIAL FOR COVERING HORSE RACE TRACKS

Turkmenistan is the land of the famous Akhal-Teke horses, and the development of domestic horse breeding, the improvement of breeding work, the popularization of various types of equestrian sports and the art of Turkmen jockeys in the world are among the national priorities.

New evidence of great measures taken in the country to develop the infrastructure of horse breeding and intensify international cooperation in this area were the Decree “On the establishment of the Aba Annayev International Horse Breeding Academy” and the Resolution “On Issues of the Aba Annayev International Horse Breeding Academy” signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the commissioning of a modern stable for keeping 600 Akhal-Teke horses which scheduled for this year. This further strengthens the international status of Turkmenistan as a recognized world center of horse breeding.

Specialists of the Technology Center of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, who are developing a technology for the production of poly-track coating from local raw materials, used for the flooring of modern race tracks, also strive to make their contribution to this multisided work. In the Laboratory of Technologies for the Synthesis of New Substances of the Technocenter, quartz sand from the Mane quarry was initially crushed to a dispersed state using a crusher. Then, the crushed quartz sand was sieved using sieves of a certain size, and cleaned by washing to remove impurities contained therein.

The washed and cleaned quartz sand is dried in an oven at a certain temperature. At the next stage, enriched quartz sand is mixed with a modifier and geotextile filler. The combination of quartz sand and geotextile filler gives the material good shock-absorbing qualities, which have a beneficial effect on the condition of the coating and the health of the horse, since the sandy mass helps to mitigate hoof strikes and reduce stress on the animal's joints.

The scientific substantiation of the technology for obtaining washed quartz sand for the production of innovative material prepared by scientists was submitted to the specialists of the plant for the production of aerated concrete of the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan. At present, the specialists of the Laboratory of Technologies for the Synthesis of New Substances are working on the preparation of technical conditions and technological regulations for production.

The work done by Turkmen scientists is of great importance in terms of import substitution and saving resources that were allocated for the purchase of expensive materials abroad to cover race tracks during the construction of new equestrian complexes and the reconstruction of racetracks existing in all velayats of the country.
