DAYS OF CULTURE OF TURKMENISTAN ENDED IN ALBUQUERQUE

On October 24, 2023, in Albuquerque, USA, the sister city of Ashgabat, as part of the Days of Turkmen Culture, a meeting of the Turkmen delegation with representatives of the city administration headed by the Mayor of the city Timothy Keller took place.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the development of cooperation between cities in such areas as education, business, culture, history and others. Along with this, the delegation of Turkmenistan presented the city of Arkadag, distinguished by progressive and environmental ideas and equipped with advanced technologies. The representatives of the administration expressed their interest and wished to visit this city.

On the same day, an exposition of Turkmen national clothing, portraits and books of the great Turkmen poet-thinker Magtymguly Fragi, original examples of decorative and applied arts, which are an integral part of the spiritual and material culture of the Turkmen people, as well as museum values was organized.

In addition, in the “Kiva Auditorium” concert hall, which brought together representatives of the Albuquerque mayor's office, the Twin Cities Foundation, the University of New Mexico, the creative intelligentsia and the public, as well as Turkmen students studying at US universities, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the US M.Orazov made a presentation about the city of Arkadag. During the presentation, a video with detailed information about the “smart city” was shown.

The final event of the Days of Culture was a gala concert at which cultural figures and creative groups of Turkmenistan performed. The concert program was based on works from national musical classics, folklore numbers and songs based on poems by Magtymguly Fragi and the National Leader of the Turkmen people.
