Opportunities of expanding cooperation in the field of sports with the Principality of Monaco discussed at the MFA of Turkmenistan

On April 28, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Advisor to the Prince of Monaco, the Founder and President of the “Peace and Sport” organization Joёl Bouzou.

During the meeting, the sides noted with satisfaction the active development of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the Principality of Monaco.

Turkmenistan’s initiatives in the field of sports were discussed as a tool for promoting friendship, solidarity, respect and mutual understanding between countries and peoples.  The importance of partnership in the sports sphere for the sake of peace on a global scale was noted.

In this regard, the importance of the annual large-scale White Card campaign, which Turkmenistan also joined, was emphasized.

It was noted that the Monegasque side is open to constructive initiatives and exchange of experience.  The neutral nature and uniqueness of sport, which is capable of uniting people at the national and international level, was particularly noted.

The parties considered the possibility of jointly organizing and holding a large-scale event under the auspices of the “Peace and Sport” organization in the future.
