Meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of India

On June 6, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov participated in the collective meeting of foreign ministers of Central Asian countries with the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
During the meeting, it was noted that the key factor of bilateral relations is the open and constructive dialog established at the highest state level.
In this context, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan conveyed to the Prime Minister of India the greetings and words of respect of the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.
It was emphasized that in economic terms Turkmenistan and India have a vast potential to expand trade, increase investments and implement joint projects in such sectors as transport, energy, industry, high technologies, healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
Particular attention was paid to the importance of implementing the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, as well as providing the necessary impetus to continue work in this regard.
In addition, it was emphasized that connecting the main transport hubs of Turkmenistan and India with the Middle East, the Caspian region and Europe will become a cornerstone of international logistics cooperation. In this regard, special attention was paid to the North - South International Transport Corridor.
At the end of the meeting, the readiness of Turkmenistan to further expand relations with India in political-diplomatic sphere, as well as high commitment to deepening trade-economic cooperation, as well as intensification of humanitarian exchanges were stated.
