Meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Croatia was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

On October 7, 2025, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia Gordan Grlić Radman, who arrived in Ashgabat leading a representative delegation.

During the meeting, the Foreign Ministers discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The sides emphasized that the key role in the development of intestate relations belongs to the contacts at high and the highest levels.  

Special attention was paid to further development of constructive cooperation in the framework of international organizations, in particular the UN, the EU, and the OSCE.

It was underlined that Croatia consistently supports the neutral status and initiatives of Turkmenistan aimed at strengthening peace, stability, and ensuring sustainable development both in the region and beyond.

The parties identified trade and economic cooperation as one of the key areas of partnership. They discussed cooperation in such areas as shipbuilding, pharmaceuticals, construction and textile industries, high technologies, tourism, and others.  In this context, the importance of the work of the Turkmen-Croatian Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation was emphasized.

The Ministers discussed issues related to expanding the legal framework of cooperation, highlighting the interest in strengthening ties in the fields of education, science, healthcare, and others.

The sides noted the importance of further developing cultural and humanitarian ties between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Croatia. 

At the end of the meeting, the ceremony of signing the Program of Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia for 2026-2027 was held. 

On the same day, a Business Forum was held in Ashgabat with the participation of representatives of the business circles of Turkmenistan and Croatia.
