Hero-Arkadag held negotiations with the Federal President of the Republic of Austria
During his visit to the Republic of Austria, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag held negotiations with the Federal President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen.
Before the meeting, an official photograph was taken of Hero-Arkadag and the Federal President of the Republic of Austria against the backdrop of the State Flags of the two countries.
The Federal President of the friendly state once again warmly welcomed the distinguished Turkmen guest and thanked Hero-Arkadag for accepting the invitation.
Expressing sincere gratitude for the warm reception, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, taking the opportunity, conveyed to the Federal President of Austria cordial greetings and best wishes from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
In turn, the Federal President of Austria conveyed his return greetings to the head of Turkmenistan and noted that he warmly recalls their productive meeting held in New York within the framework of the United Nations General Assembly.
During the constructive exchange of views, Hero-Arkadag emphasized that the current visit to the Republic of Austria is regarded as an important step that will give a strong impetus to the intensification of bilateral cooperation. It is symbolic that Turkmenistan and Austria are marking significant dates related to the legal status of neutrality at almost the same time.
Hero-Arkadag expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Republic of Austria for its consistent support of Turkmenistan’s international initiatives, in particular for co-sponsoring numerous resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly. Austria’s active support for Turkmenistan’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for 2031-2032 is clear evidence of the high level of mutual trust.
During the meeting, considerable attention was paid to the activities of the Group of Friends of Neutrality, which Austria joined among the first participating countries. This cooperation is also reflected in the framework of interaction with the European Union.
As noted, contacts between the foreign ministries of the two countries are also developing steadily. The important role of interparliamentary dialogue, which has noticeably intensified in recent years, was emphasized.
In the course of exchanging views on the current state of trade and economic cooperation, the National Leader of the Turkmen people stressed the need to make fuller use of the existing potential to increase the volume of trade turnover.
Promising areas of cooperation were identified as high-tech sectors, including green energy, digitalization, and artificial intelligence. Turkmenistan is showing great interest in Austrian experience in the development of urban infrastructure, water purification technologies, and the banking sector.
The humanitarian sphere serves as a bridge uniting the two peoples, which is especially clearly manifested in academic exchanges between leading higher educational institutions. Cultural dialogue is also developing steadily.
Noting that Turkmenistan is always open to long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation with Austria, Hero-Arkadag invited the Federal President of the Republic of Austria to visit Ashgabat at a time convenient for him.
Thanking him for the invitation, Alexander Van der Bellen noted with satisfaction that Austrian-Turkmen relations are today being filled with new substance and are successfully developing for the benefit of the two friendly peoples.
