President of Turkmenistan received the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran

On July 27, 2026, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran Farzaneh Sadegh Malvajerd who arrived in Ashgabat on a visit.

Expressing gratitude for the time allocated for the meeting, the guest noted the great importance Iran attaches to the development of friendly relations with Turkmenistan. Farzane Sadegh Malvajerd expressed to the head of Turkmenistan, as well as to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the People’s Council Hero-Arkadag, greetings and best wishes from President Masoud Pezeshkian.

The guest emphasized the importance of the recently held visit of the Chairman of the People’s Council to Turkmenistan and the meetings held within it with the President of Iran and the Speaker of Islamic Republic of Iran’s Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

Addressing greetings and best wishes to President Masoud Pezeshkian, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the upcoming meetings and talks with Turkmen colleagues during the visit of Farzaneh Sadegh Malvajerd will contribute to further development of interstate relations.

It was noted that adhering to the status of neutrality recognized by the General Assembly of the United Nations, Turkmenistan closely cooperates with the states of the world and reputable international organizations.  Friendly, mutually respectful and trusting nature is inherent to the collaboration with neighboring countries.

Good relations between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran are based on common historical and cultural values, which have deep historical roots.

Today, interstate dialogue is developing bilaterally and within the framework of international organizations, based on the principles of mutual respect and mutual understanding. Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran support constructive cooperation on the UN platform and other international structures.

Trade and economic ties are an important part of the agenda of interstate relations. In this context, the interlocutors emphasized the key role of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in the expansion of Turkmen-Iranian cooperation. The activity of the Commission is aimed at identifying new opportunities and vectors for partnership, promoting specific measures for the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.

At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran Farzaneh Sadegh Malvajerd expressed their confidence in further development of constructive interstate relations in the interests of the friendly peoples of the two countries and exchanged best wishes.
