PARTICIPANTS OF INTERNATIONAL TRANSPORT CONFERENCE ACQUAINT THEMSELVES WITH TURKMENBASHI PORT COMPLEX

A tour to the Turkmenbashi International Seaport was organized for participants of the ministerial transport conference. Particular interest in the facilities of the sea harbor was shown by representatives of major logistics companies that view Turkmenistan as a promising and reliable partner.

It is well known that shipping plays a key role in the development of transport services. Not only do Turkmenistan’s new sea gates aim to satisfy our country’s growing need for maritime connectivity, but also open up broad opportunities to intensify freight traffic across Eurasia.

As for technical aspects, the new port is equipped with advanced hardware and software systems to ensure safety and efficiency of navigation and cargo transportation, and to protect the environment.

The port comprises ferry, passenger and cargo terminals, as well as “Balkan” ship-building and repair facility. In addition to berthing facilities, a well-developed coastal infrastructure complemented the logistics with motorways and railways.

The trip was followed by a presentation of investment opportunities in Turkmenistan’s marine industry organized at the Great Silk Road hotel located on the port’s territory.
