TURKMENBASHY SEAPORT: IMPULSE OF INTEGRATION

Turkmenbashy International Seaport becomes important link in modern transport infrastructure of Turkmenistan. These days, ferry, passenger and container terminals work all day round to send passengers and cargo.

Passenger and transport traffic shipped to Caspian ports by Ro-Pax ferryboats Berkarar and Bagtiyar has increased significantly before New Year. The volumes of cargo transit via Turkmenbashy port is growing. Ships that delivered construction materials from Iran are offloaded at the berth while the wheat from Kazakhstan is loaded to Iranian bulk carrier.

The port provides the shipment of cargo coming for Afghanistan and back to Azerbaijan and Turkey. Volumes of goods brought from neighbouring and remote countries are increased. Containers from Spain designated for Uzbekistan are offloaded. Shipment of construction materials, metal and timber from Turkey and Russian Federation for important facilities of our country and other states is carried out.

Thousands meters of big diameter pipes have been delivered via seaport to the location of TAPI gas line. Volumes of export of Turkmen goods are growing. Carbamide produced in Garabogaz, polyethylene and polypropylene from polymeric plant in Kiyanly, petroleum coke from Turkmenbashy Refinery Complex, natural raw material from sulphur deposits, etc. are regularly sent to Turkey, Russia, Bulgaria, Romania and other countries.

High technology equipment of the port, which is provided with modern programme and instrument complexes necessary for provision of safety and efficiency of navigation and transportation support rapid processing of cargos. Renewed transport and logistic hub in Turkmenbashy is to provide new level of economic and trade cooperation between the countries of Asia and Europe, to give strong impulse to interregional connections and to optimize transport routes in Eurasian space.
