MULBERRY PRODUCTION FIELDS ARE EXPANDED IN DASHOGUZ VELAYAT

60,000 mulberry saplings, that is much more as compare to the last year, will be planted in the northern region of the country during this year’s spring planting campaign. The expansion of the fields to be planted with this orchard crop is explained by the useful properties of mulberry and its healthy influence on the ecology. The decorative properties of mulberry promote its popularity as an element of the landscape design.

Besides that, the expansion of the fields to be planted with mulberry has an economic aspect. Dashoguz Velayat is one of the producers of high-quality silk worm cocoons. This year, it is planned to produce 485 tons of silk cocoons. As is known, the mulberry leaves are used as silkworm feed.

This year, 300,000 trees, including apple, apricot, pear, plum, cherry plum, cherry, cherry, fig trees among others, will be planted on 750-hectare territory in Dashoguz Velayat.
