ASHGABAT CITIZENS ARE INTRODUCED WITH THE ART OF GRAMMY WINNER JOSS STONE

The Watan Cinema and Concert Centre hosted the concert of soul singer from United kingdom Joss Stone, which was dedicated to 30-year anniversary of the Convention on Child Rights. The concert was organized by the Ministry of Culture of our country, the Embassy of Great Britain to Turkmenistan and the UNESCO Representative Office.

… When she was 13, Joss Stone performed in the show at one of the stages of Great Britain. Specific voice timbre and open performance manner have conquered the audience and producers. From that moment, her successful vocal carrier has started. She signed the contract and release her first album “The Session Sessions”.

Today, Joss is a winner of two BRIT Awards and one Grammy. The singer set the objective to give concerts in all countries of the world. Turkmenistan is 175th country where her wonderful voice sounded. Soul music is the genre she perform broadcasting the kindness, peace, love and humanity. Almost all song in her list are her own.

Joss Stone entered the stage accompanied by guitar player Leon King. The song she started her concert was “The Star”. Joss was signing that people are equal on the Earth regardless from skin colour and beliefs. We have to accept people as they are. This is the only way to reach harmony in the world.

After, foreign guest was joined by Turkmen singer Lyale Begnazarova at the stage. The duet performed “The Lullaby” in Turkmen language for the audience. “The Lullaby” was very symbolical in the theme of music event as mothers of all people of the world lay children down to sleep singing them tender song with good wishes.

Voice timbre of Joss sounded tender sometime and emotionally rich and powerful. Sociable and positive performer made easy contact with Ashgabat public. The spectators warmly greeted the performance of the guest giving her flowers and applauses, singing and dancing with her.

In the interview, Joss Stone said that it was difficult to sing Turkmen song as it has totally different rhythm and tune. However, it was interesting at the same time to interpret tender melody of mother’s love. I think that Lyale Begnazarova was happy with our joint performance. I liked Turkmenistan citizens very much; they are open-hearted, hospitable and kind. I am happy I met them.
