ASPECTS OF COOPERATION BETWEEN TURKMENISTAN, WTO AND WORLD BANK DISCUSSED IN AVAZA

As discussed during the meeting between Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, Batyr Bazarov and World Bank Executive Director, Werner Gruber, who arrived in our country to participate in the First Caspian Economic Forum, the Memorandum on Cooperation for expanding export opportunities of Turkmenistan is to be signed between the Ministry of Finance and Economy of our country and the International Finance Corporation, affiliated to the World Bank during the Forum.

During the meeting it was underlined that the dialogue between Turkmenistan and the World Bank developed steadily. Currently, new areas of interaction are elaborated. Training of specialized specialists, advisory support on various aspects of macroeconomics and financial monitoring were specified among the priority areas.

The Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan held a meeting with Director of the Accessions Division of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Ms. Maika Oshikawa. The meeting participants emphasized that the active cooperation with the World Trade Organization would accelerate the procedure on Turkmenistan’s entry into the WTO. For seven years, the ministries and departments of the country in cooperation with international structures, have been working in this direction. Ms. Maika Oshikawa will take part in the national seminar on accession to the WTO on August 11.
