ISSUES OF COOPERATION IN THE TRAINING OF YOUNG DIPLOMATS DISCUSSED AT THE TURKMEN-UZBEK ONLINE MEETING

Studies of new trends in Turkmen-Uzbek relations, issues of training young diplomats, as well as the progress of the implementation of the "Memorandum of Cooperation between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy of Uzbekistan (UWED)", signed during the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan, were discussed at online round table.

The meeting was attended by the Ambassadors of the two countries Y. Mammedov and A. Kuchkarov, heads and faculty of the IIR MFA of Turkmenistan and (UWED).

The rectors of the universities of the two countries provided detailed information on the diverse activities of the institutions, their structural changes and expanding potential. Particular emphasis in the discussion was paid to the exchange of experience in the organization of educational and scientific work in the online mode of technology in the context of a global pandemic.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan noted that about two thousand Turkmen students are currently receiving education in the universities of Uzbekistan, spoke in detail about the state and prospects of bilateral relations in the field of education, and also informed about preparations for celebrating this year the 25th anniversary of the status of Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan.

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan spoke about the historical origins of friendship between the fraternal peoples, put forward a number of constructive proposals for cooperation between the two universities, in particular on organizing joint events dedicated to the initiatives of the leaders of our countries in regional and international politics.

In the course of an active exchange of views within the framework of the round table, an agreement was reached to expand cooperation in the exchange of students, masters, teachers, as well as scientific publications, to carry out joint research, to conduct online scientific conferences and seminars.
