THE CYCLING: THE STRIVE FOR THE WORLD ACHIEVEMENTS

Preparation to the World Track Cycling Championship in Ashgabat on October 13 - 17, which organization has been entrusted to the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs of Turkmenistan together with the Cycling Federation and International Cycling Union (UCI), is carried out at present time.

Visit of specialists of International Cycling Union to our capital and its branch, the World Cycling Center, is expected this spring for training of Turkmen sportsmen, coaches and referees as well as testing of racers using special technical developments.

The WATTBIKE stationary bike, which is designated not only for training but also for determining physical capabilities of sportsman, is one of these equipment. A unique model of the latest modification is an aerodynamic model with magnetic resistance. New model allows determining physical condition of sportsman during ride using special electronic sensors connected to the body. In other words, Turkmen sportsmen will have to pass special exam to electronic machine to get the right to participate in track races.

In addition to bike simulator, specialists of UCI and WCC will determine the level of physical training of members of national team using bioelectrical impedance analyzer. This method is based on measurement of bioelectrical resistance of tissues of the organism. At the same time, integral assessment of the composition of the body mass is carried out. In other words, the analyzer will show if the weight of sportsmen meets the standard, which will allow minimizing the risk of disease development, determining optimum weight loss or gain methods and the level of physical exercises. The monitoring will be carried out during 10-day course of training.

At present time, our racers are at the training camp on the base of one of health improving center in Gyokdere next to Ashgabat. In addition, the sportsmen, who are trained by experienced coach, Master of Sports Candidate Nargeldy Igdirov, regularly visit indoor cycling track of the Olympic village where they train hard for coming championship.

Specialists of the World Cycling Center (WCC) has developed targeted program of professional training for Turkmen sportsmen to the world track cycling tournament and finding the most promising athletes for the men and women national teams.

Cooperation with the WCC is aimed not only at training of Turkmen cyclists to the World Championship but also to number of qualifying tournaments for 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Specialists of WCC and UCI will be regularly invited to Ashgabat for improvement of professional skills of coaches and referees as well as maintenance technicians. In addition, our coaches and referees will be able to take part in international seminars and conferences.

Deputy Director of National Cycling Technical Center of Turkmenistan Vitaly Zatsepin tol in the conversation that number of sport bicycles of the latest modification and spare parts for them would be bought soon.

The design of sport uniform of Turkmen sportsmen has been approved, initial logo of the World Championship has been developed. Preparation of volunteers among the students has been started.
