TURKMENISTAN INTENSIFIES PARTNERSHIP WITH THE VOLGA-KAMA REGION OF RUSSIA

The Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Kazan (the Russian Federation, Kazan) organized a videoconference meeting between the heads of ministries and departments of Turkmenistan and the Chuvash Republic and the Perm Territory of the Russian Federation.

 Our country at the meeting was represented by Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan (CCI) D. Rejepov, deputy ministers of industry and construction production, as well as the textile industry, members of the Board of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the country (UIET).

Russia was represented by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development, Industry and Trade of the Chuvashia D.I.Krasnov and Deputy Head of this department D. Spirin, Deputy Minister of Industry and Energy S. Lekarev, Head of the Cheboksary Branch of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Nizhny Novgorod A. Pogodeikin, head of the Center for Export Support of the Chuvash Republic G. Danilov, as well as President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Perm Territory O. Zhdanov and his deputy E. Mironova.

The parties underlined the importance of taking effective steps to increase mutual trade between Turkmenistan and the Volga-Kama macro-region of the Russian Federation, including using the potential of small and medium-sized businesses. Discussing the aspects of the provision of assistance to entrepreneurs in enhancing trade and economic cooperation, particular attention was paid to the importance of facilitating the procedure for obtaining entry visas, as well as uninterrupted transportation of goods and financial settlements.

Consul General in Kazan A. Bayramov invited the business circles of Chuvashia and the Perm Territory to participate in the activities of the Trade House of Turkmenistan, registered in the capital of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation on March 11, 2021.

During the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that the 6th Summit of the Heads of the Caspian Littoral States to be held in Turkmenistan this year, would offer a powerful impetus to the expansion of cooperation between the regions of the Russian Federation located in the Volga-Kama basin and Turkmenistan.
