PLANTING OF POTATO STARTS IN THE NORTH OF THE COUNTRY

Following other regions of Turkmenistan, farmers of Dashoguz Region have started spring plantation of potato. Provision with quality seeding material as well as specialized equipment will allow conducting a responsible agricultural campaign in set period.

The land for potato occupies 1,900 hectares. The main part of this territory is located in Gurbansoltan-eje district, in which N. Anadalyp,  Şawat farming associations and other private structures are specialized in production of potato.

S. A. Niyazov district is another big producer of potato in this region. 450 hectares have been allocated for spring plantation of the crop in this district. Mainly early and medium term raping species of Holland section, which do not require much care, distinguished with high productivity and are well adapted to local soil and climate conditions, are cultivated in Dashoguz Region.

800 hectares of land would be allocated for autumn potato in the region. Local producers plan to receive 1,400 tons of potato from each hectare.
