LEBAP NEWS: PRODUCTION OF SILK COCOONS AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE MAIN GAS PIPELINE
Feeding of silkworm has started in the Amudary River valley. Silk producers of the southeastern regions – Koytendag, Hojambaz, Kerky and Khalach, where favorable weather conditions allowed starting to cultivate silk material in orderly manner, were the first to receive the silkworm eggs.
Lebap Region is the biggest producers of silkworm cocoons in Turkmenistan. This year, silk producers of the region have to produce 1,010 tons of high quality cocoons, which will make around half of total production volume of important silk material in the country.

The construction of new high-pressure gas pipeline has started. The length of the pipeline is 125 kilometers. It starts from Uchaja Gas Field and will reach the desert around oasis in Charjew district providing gas to super modern 432 MW gas turbine power station, which is currently under construction.
The construction of this biggest in Lebap Region and third in the eastern part of the country gs turbine power station is at the final stage/ it will be provided with modern equipment from the famous world producers of profile equipment.
The commissioning of gas turbine power plant in Charjew district will be an excellent gift for the 30th anniversary of the Motherland’s independence.
