SOWING OF POTATO AND ONION IS FINISHED IN DASHOGUZ REGION

Farmers of Gurbansoltan-eje District – a big producers of potato in the region, were the first to finish agricultural campaign for sowing of potato. The potato fields occupy 950 hectares in this place.

The fields under potato in S. A. Niyazov district occupy 450 hectares. In general, farmers of Dashoguz Region, where 1,900 hectares have been allocated for spring sowing, have managed to complete agricultural activities in shorter period comparing with last year.

At the same time, sowing of onion, which is cultivated in big volumes in the above-mentioned districts as well as in Gubabdag District, has been accomplished.

It is worth to mention that potato and onion will be also planted in autumn to receive the second harvest. Last year, sowing of winter onion has been made for the first time in such big volume on 1,000 hectares in the north of Turkmenistan. Specialists expect very good production.
