TURKMEN WEIGHTLIFTER GO TO ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIP IN TASHKENT

Turkmenistan team will participate in Asian Weightlifting Championship in Tashkent, which starts on April 17. Our delegation includes 19 people (11 athletes, 5 coaches, 1 technical delegate and 2 officials).

In women tournament, Turkmenistan will be represented by Yulduz Jumabayeva (weight category up to 49 kg), Cristina Shermetova (up to 55 kg), Polina Guryeva (up to 59 kg), Gulnabat Kadyrova (up to 71 kg) and Aysoltan Toychiyeva (up to 81 kg). Seyitjan Mirzayev (up to 61 kg), Maksat Merdov (up to 73 kg). Rejepbay Rejepov (up to 81 kg), Rustam Annaberdiyev (up to 89 kg), Ovez Ovezov (up to 109 kg) and Hojamuhammed Toychiev (above 109 kg) represent men’s team.

Participation of 186 weightlifters from 26 countries is expected in Asian Championship. These competitions are qualification competitions for the Olympic Games, which will be held in Tokyo on July 23 – August 8, 2021.
