ASPECTS OF TURKMEN-IRANIAN PARTNERSHIP IN OIL PRODUCTION CONSIDERED IN TEHRAN

The issues of expanding cooperation between Turkmenistan and Iran in the fuel and energy sector were discussed at a meeting between Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Tehran Ahmet Gurbanov and CEO of an Iranian oil company KEPCO (Khazar Exploration and Production Company) Ali Osouli.
KEPCO is a subdivision of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).
During the meeting, KEPCO CEO presented projects for the development of the Caspian Sea fields. Ali Osouli also touched upon the creation of shipbuilding enterprises in the north of Iran and the Iranian experience in building platforms for work in the Caspian Sea, in particular, the Iran-Kabir semi-submarine platform and multipurpose vessels.
In turn, the head of the diplomatic mission highly assessed the prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the engineering and technical sphere. The diplomat expressed hope that Turkmenistan would also be able to use Iran's technical experience in working in the deep waters of the Caspian Sea. According to the Ambassador, in this direction it is advisable to hold a meeting of representatives of specialized companies of the two countries.
“There is great potential for expanding Turkmen-Iranian cooperation in the Caspian Sea, which will contribute to the economic growth of the two neighboring countries,” Ambassador Ahmet Gurbanov said.
It is expected that aspects of partnership in the fuel and energy sector will be put on the agenda of the next meeting of the Turkmen-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission.
