MORE THAN ONE THOUSANDS OF CONVICTS ARE PARDONED IN HONOR OF THE SACRED QADR NIGHT

Pardoning action has been held in Turkmenistan in honor of the sacred Qadr Night (the Night of Power or Measure). President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has signed relative orders at the video conference session of the Government.

According to the documents, 982 Turkmen and 53 foreign citizens are released from further sentence in the form of imprisonment as well as from additional sentence in the form of obligation to live in certain place.

Signing the orders, the President requested vice-premier, Secretary of the State Security Council Chary Amanov and heads of the law enforcement agencies to take measures in order for pardoned people could be released from the prison and return home to their families. Turkmen leader has also given instructions to the heads of local administration to help pardoned to get work.

Qadr night is the 27th night of the holy month of Ramadan. It is one of the venerated in Islam and observed on the night of May 9 this year. According to Islamic canons, the Almighty has sent the first verses of Quran have been revealed to the Prophet Muahmmed.
