THE INTERNATIONAL OIL AND GAS INVESTMENT FORUM IN ASHGABAT BRINGS TOGETHER ABOUT 500 PARTICIPANTS FROM 42 COUNTRIES

On May 12-13, Ashgabat hosts the International Forum on attracting foreign investments to the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan. The forum organized by the State Concerns "Turkmengaz" and "Turkmenneft", the State Corporation "Turkmengeologia", as well as the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan in partnership with the "Turkmen Forum" Business Association and with the support of the British company GaffneyClineis is held in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.

The Forum, organized in a hybrid format, brings together about 500 participants from 42 countries, representing more than 160 international oil and gas and investment companies, as well as leading experts from major international structures and financial institutions, including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, ESCAP, International Energy Forum , CIS Executive Committee, Global Gas Center, Forum of Gas Exporting Countries among others.

The detailed overview of the investment opportunities of Turkmenistan in the oil and gas sector, petrochemical projects and project opportunities will be presented during the forum. World's leading oil and gas companies will be provided with the opportunity to share their vision and experience.

Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Muhammetgeldy Serdarov, UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Turkmenistan Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne, Secretary General of the International Energy Forum (IEF) Joseph McMonigle, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana will speak during the plenary session "Global trends in the development of energy markets and the prospects for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation".

The forum will allow increasing awareness of participants in potential investment opportunities in the oil and gas industry, including optimization of oil and gas production from mature fields, and the development of offshore blocks in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea. A number of important contracts and memorandums will be signed within the framework of the forum. 

Foreign partners participating in the forum online will be provided with online access to all sessions, including meetings with the heads of the oil and gas and financial and economic complexes of Turkmenistan.
