CHINA EXPANDS THE PRODUCTION AND IMPORT OF ENERGY CARRIERS

For the first four months of 2021, China has increased the production of oil and gas as well as their import. This is indicated by the information of the PCR’s State Statistical Bureau published by Russian magazine “Oil and Gas Chain”.
According to the information, the growth of oil production was 1.9 percent for this period, which makes 65.63 million tons per year. In April, the growth of oil production has increased by 3.4 percent and was 16.41 million tons.
Production of gas in the country has increased by 11.6 percent in January – April, which will make up to 70.2 billion cubic meters per year, separately by 7 percent up to 16.9 billion cubic meters in April.
By the outcomes of January – April, China increased the import of oil by 7.2 percent, which up to 179.6 million tons per year. The import of natural gas has grown by 22.4 percent up to 39.45 million tons. Turkmenistan is leading in supply of pipeline gas to the PRC and China hopes for further improvement of strategic partnership between two countries in gas sphere. China is the largest buyer of Turkmen natural gas.
