TURKMENISTAN - A CO-AUTHOR OF THE RESOLUTION DECLARING THE ARAL SEA REGION A ZONE OF ECOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS AND TECHNOLOGIES

UN General Assembly, on the proposal of Uzbekistan, adopted a special resolution on declaring the Aral Sea region a zone of ecological innovations and technologies. As reported by the UN News website, 50 states, including Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, stand as co-authors of the resolution.

In the resolution, the General Assembly declared its support for regional events and initiatives aimed at improving the environmental, social, economic and demographic situation in the Aral Sea region.
