GREECE EXPRESSES INTEREST IN STRENGTHENING ECONOMIC COOPERATION WITH TURKMENISTAN

According to the Trend News Agency with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Greece expressed interest in developing cooperation with Turkmenistan as well as diversifying bilateral trade and strengthening investment ties.

Energy, construction, agricultural and food products, information technology and textiles were specified among key areas of cooperation. Greek companies with significant know-how in the field of infrastructure construction, energy and mineral oil processing are interested in building up cooperation with Turkmen companies.

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, his country supports and highly appreciates the policy of neutrality pursued by Turkmenistan in the context of promoting stability, security and good neighborly relations in Central Asia.

Turkmenistan actively cooperates with a number of European countries in a wide range of areas, including oil and gas, textile, agro-industrial, construction, trade and economic and other spheres. Cooperation with the EU on a bilateral and multilateral basis is one of the key vectors of the country's foreign policy and foreign economic strategy.
