THE PROGRAM OF EVENTS OF TURKMEN CARPET DAY IS DEVELOPED

Works for preparation to Turkmen Carpet Day, which is observed on the last Sunday in May, is ongoing. In particular, according to the program, it is planned to organize an exhibition, conference of the World Turkmen Handmade Carpet Art Connoisseurs Association, award ceremony of carpet makers, contests, cultural and public events.

In addition, opening of administrative and production buildings is planned at Baherden carpet production facility.

In this regard, the head of the state has noted at the session of the Government that beautiful carpets made by Turkmen masters are the world recognized pieces of art. Throughout many centuries, the secrets of this painstaking craft were passed from generation to generation.

The President has requested vice-premier Chary Gylyjov to hold planned events on occasion of the holiday on high level and to pay special attention to further development of the industry, strengthening of its equipment and facility base.
