TBILISI HOSTS TENNIS TOURNAMENT DEDICATED TO THE 140TH ANNIVERSARY OF ASHGABAT

On March 22 – 23, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Tbilisi together with the Alliance for development of amateurs and corporate sports of Georgia has held tennis tournament, which was dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Ashgabat, 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence and proclamation of 2021 as International Year of Peace and Trust.

Representatives of diplomatic mission and international organizations accredited in Georgia took part in the competitions. The tournament was highlighted by local media.

Organization of sport events together with the Alliance for development of amateur and corporate sports of Georgia has become a good tradition. The participants have congratulated Turkmenistan on the 30th anniversary of independence as well as on the 140th anniversary of the capital. It was mentioned that Ashgabat has turned into important center of the world sports in the last years.

It was also highlighted that current anniversary year of Turkmenistan and its capital would be marked with important events in the history of the world sports. Ashgabat will host the World Track Cycling Championship and qualification round of International Davis Cup Tennis Tournament.

The award ceremony took place after the end of the competitions.
