TURKMENISTAN CITIZENS TO BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN «YOUTH EYES ON THE SILK ROAD» CONTEST

The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) again organizes international photo contest «Youth Eyes on the Silk Road» for promotion of the dialog and development.

This is a unique opportunity for young people of 14 – 25 years old to share their works, demonstrate creativity and individuality by photos, which highlight important cultural relations on the Silk Road. The contest is to motivate the youth living in the countries, which the Silk Road used to cross, or those who travels along this historical route, to use photographing as a tool which highlights a historical input of the Silk Road.

This year, the photos have to reveal common heritage of Silk Road in two directions – textile and dress; intercultural exchange in COVID-19 period, including in textile and dress sphere. Young photographers will be able to capture the changes, which the world has experienced throughout continuing pandemics from intercultural exchange point of view. Important role of textile in production and design of face masks is one of direct examples.

The applications are received until August 24, 2021 by email silkroadsphotocontest@unesco.org.

The best 50 photos, which reflect the spirit of contest in full, will be included in travelling exhibition. It will be opened in various parts of the world. It is worth to note that the exhibition has been already presented in Turkmenistan in 2018 under International Conference «Importance of the Great Silk Road: Present and Future Development».
