ANOTHER VIDEO MEETING WITH FOREIGN PARTNERS

Supporting women's entrepreneurship, ensuring gender balance and creating equal working conditions became the main topic of discussion at the International Online Forum «Empowering Women for Sustainable Development in Central Asia and Afghanistan», organized today by the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Development Program.

The chairman of the Mejlis Milli Gengesh and representatives of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs from the Turkmen side took part in the multilateral meeting held under the auspices of the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asia.

The beginning of the forum was preceded by a video review of the exhibition of products of women entrepreneurs of Central Asia, held in the capital of each of the participating countries.

Expressing support for the efforts of the governments of the states of the region to ensure gender equality and increase the role of women in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, the videoconference participants emphasized the need to fully realize the entrepreneurial potential of women, to further improve the legislative framework and economic policy in order to expand their presence in the labor market and actively promote in the public and private sectors.

Within the framework of the forum, a "Road Map" was agreed and adopted for the development of cooperation in the field of sustainable development between women entrepreneurs of Central Asia and Afghanistan, and the Final Document was adopted - a Joint Statement, in which the forum participants expressed confidence that the practical implementation of the planned activities will contribute to the development of women's entrepreneurship, further strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation and business partnerships between women entrepreneurs of the region.
