NEW FERTILIZER BULK TERMINAL FROM TURKMENISTAN, UZBEKISTAN AND KAZAKHSTAN IS OPENED IN BATUMI

Multimodal mineral fertilizer terminal for transportation of granulated carbamides made in Central Asian countries – Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, has been opened in Batumi Seaport, Azeri Report website informs.
It is noted on the website that total annual production of fertilizers in Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan is more than 6.6 million tons. The article informs that only Garabogazkarbamid fertilizer plant, which was recently opened on the eastern coast of Caspian Sea in Turkmenistan, has annual production of 1.2 million tons of carbamide, 90 percent of which goes for export.
New terminal of Batumi Port will be able to process 1.5 million tons of mineral fertilizers per year. The production from Central Asia will come to Batumi Port from Azerbaijan and further shipped to consumers in USA, Europe, Africa and Australia.
Experts forecast significant growth of demand on mineral fertilizers in post-pandemic period as the demand of agricultural and food production is growing in the world.
