TRAINING FOR SOCIAL WORK SPECIALISTS
New social work specialists attended 15-day training course in a series of complex trainings organized by the United Nations Development Programme in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan.
Upon completion of the last stage of 45-day training, training participants received certificates confirming their professional development in the field of social work. The certificate awarding ceremony was held in a hybrid format - specialists from the regions of the country took part in the ceremony online.
The last specialized training focused on specific aspects of social work. Specialists were trained to participate in piloting a new model of social services at the local level.
The training covered such topics as family conference, support in crisis situations, cooperation in social services for the social integration of target groups among others.
It should be noted that 45 social work specialists hired by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Turkmenistan under the Joint Programme of the Government of Turkmenistan and UN Agencies in 20 pilot etraps were trained by national trainers, who, in turn, received online training from the Social Activities and Practices Institute of Bulgaria. National trainers conducted trainings for social work specialists in all regions of the country within eight months - from November 2020 to July 2021.
The trainings included the theory and practice of social work, with field application in between courses. In addition, international experts conducted coaching sessions for social work specialists on a monthly basis.
