TURKMENISTAN TO HOLD INTERNATIONAL TENDER FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A BRIDGE ACROSS THE GARABOGAZGOL BAY
During a working trip to the Balkan velayat, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the relevant officials to announce an international tender for the construction of a road bridge across the Garabogazgol Bay.
The Turkmen leader arrived at the road bridge across the bay that connects the Garabogazgol Bay with the Caspian Sea. After inspecting the state of the facility, the President of Turkmenistan instructed the relevant officials to announce an international tender for the construction of a new bridge and reconstruction of the road leading to it.
According to the President of Turkmenistan, the new bridge across the Garabogazgol Bay will become an important engineering structure of the Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan international transport route.
The President of Turkmenistan also underlined that the connection of this route with the Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi highway would significantly increase the throughput capacity of the road system of the country and increase the volume of trade between Turkmenistan and neighboring countries.
Touching upon the issue of the integrated development of chemical resources in the Garabogazgol Bay, the President of Turkmenistan instructed the research institutes of the country to study the reserves of chemical raw materials and the characteristics of the bay.
The Garabogazgol Bay possesses large reserves of mineral salts. The bottom sediments contain sodium sulfate (mirabilite), other sodium salts, magnesium salts, sulfuric acids and other raw materials used the chemical industry, including for the production of fertilizers.
