PRESIDENT OF REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN STARTED OFFICIAL VISIT TO TURKMENISTAN

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Turkmenistan tonight on a state visit.

The head of Tajikistan was met by officials at the International Airport of the capital, decorated with the State flags of the two friendly countries. A guard of honor was lined up along the carpet leading from the plane ladder in honor of the arrival of the distinguished guest.

From the air harbor, the motorcade of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, accompanied by an escort of motorcyclists, went to the fashionable capital hotel "Oguzkent".

The upcoming regular Turkmen-Tajik summit meeting in Ashgabat on August 4th is intended to become a new important milestone in the history of bilateral relations based on centuries-old unbreakable traditions of friendship, good-neighborliness and fruitful cooperation.

Great importance is attached to the activities of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Tajik Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, established in 2007 by the initiative of the head of state Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. So, last week in the city of Dushanbe, a regular, tenth meeting of the Commission was held, demonstrating a high level of interstate interaction, which is facilitated by a confident political dialogue between the leaders of the two neighboring countries.

Systematic meetings of Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Emomali Rahmon and their mutual warm and trusting relations are the best confirmation of the desire of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan to intensify and expand traditional cooperation, which is successfully developing in a bilateral and multilateral format, primarily through the largest international organizations.

As expected, a wide range of issues of mutual interest will be discussed, and a package of important bilateral documents aimed at intensifying the multifaceted partnership, further strengthening trust and mutual understanding between the two fraternal peoples and states will be signed within the framework of the current Ashgabat summit talks.
