TURKMENISTAN, AZERBAIJAN AND TAJIKISTAN INCREASE SUPPLY OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES TO RUSSIA

According to Finmarket with reference to the Rosselkhoznadzor and the Argus-Fito information system, in 2021, the CIS countries increased the supply of fruits and vegetables to the Russian Federation.

Thus, as of August 10, supplies increased primarily from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan. Azerbaijan imported 338.200 tons of fruits and vegetables, which is 4.6% more as compare to 2020, Turkmenistanhas increased the supply by 93%, from 16.900 tons to 32.700 tons and Tajikistan - by 38% - from 4.800 tons to 6.700 tons.

According to the report, Turkmenistan has significantly increased the supply of tomatoes - from 16.400 tons to 31.900 tons and carrots - from 40 to 302 tons.

Earlier it was reported that in order to stabilize prices for food products Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government officials to take measures to increase the supply of agricultural products from the CIS countries.
