THE COMMODITY TURNOVER OF IRAN AND CA STATES THROUGH SERAKHS HAS INCREASED

The Director General of the Khorasan railway Mostafa Nasiri said that in the first half of the current year through the railway border Serakhs to the Central Asian countries were loaded 600 000 ton of export cargo with more than 9 500 freight wagons, that is three times as much from the same period last year.

According to the officer: “notably, that 92% of export accrue to Khorasan Razavi Province, where 550 000 ton of goods is exported”.

He noted, that cement, representing 36%, is in the first place among the export goods of the railway transportation through Serakhs to the Central Asia, and Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan with 45% and 41%, correspondingly, were the main directions of this export of goods via railway.

As Nasiri noted: “Due to the special advantages of the railway transportation, including reduction of fuel consumption, reduction of the road traffic incidents and environment pollution, the Khorasan railway provides its services to the exporters in the province and country for the purpose to increase production”.

It should be reminded that putted into operation in May 1996 the railway ‘Tejen – Serakhs – Meshkhed” turns an important part for the IRI transport branch in the cargo transportation to Turkmenistan and other republics of the Central Asia.
