THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN AND THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN CONSIDERED PRIORITY DIRECTIONS OF MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL PARTNERSHIP

As already reported, on October 24, 2021, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived to Turkmenistan on a state visit.

On the first day of the visit the President of Kazakhstan visited Akhal-Teke horse complex of the President of Turkmenistan. Here the Heads of states watched a brood of elite Akhal-Teke horses.

Then Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev watched the performances of the group of national equestrian games «Galkynysh».

On the second day of the visit, on October 25 in the morning the distinguished guest from the residence allotted to him proceeded to Independence Square, located in the center of Ashgabat. Here President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was warmly greeted by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Having exchanged friendly handshakes, the leaders of the two countries go to a specially installed podium, Here, at the square; the official welcome ceremony of the distinguished guest was held.

After the official ceremony of photographing against the background of the State flags of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Hall of bilateral meetings, where Turkmen-Kazakh high-level one-on-one talks took place.

As was noted during constructive talks of the Heads of the two friendly countries, the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Ashgabat is intended to be another effective step towards increasing of bilateral, mutually beneficial cooperation which during the recent years has acquired a new quality and content. The Presidents stated that the parties have huge potential for broadening of fruitful common interest interaction.

Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also exchanged views on a number of actual issues of regional and international policy of mutual interest.

Further negotiations in an expanded format, with the participation of the members of official delegations of the two countries.

The sides stated the presence of huge potential for the development and strengthening of a long-term and strategic interaction between the two countries. The exchange of views on broad opportunities of diversification of cooperation of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan on actual aspects of bilateral agenda took place.  

At the end of the negotiations in an expanded format, the ceremony of signing bilateral documents took place. The parties signed 20 bilateral documents designed to expand the partnership of the two countries in the field of border and customs interaction, civil defense, agriculture, environment protection, international road transport, railway transport, trade, statistics, education, information and cultural exchange, as well as in the social-labor sphere.

After the end of signing ceremony the Heads of the two states made an address to the representatives of the mass media.

The heads of states underlined that during the talks the important place was given to the issues of strengthening of peace, stability and security on a regional level. It was noted that the sides agreed to work closely in bilateral format, as well as in the framework of authoritative international structures in solving urgent questions of our time.

After the end of the address to the representatives of the mass media, the ceremony of handing to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of one of the highest state awards of Turkmenistan - the Order “Bitaraplyk” (“Neutrality”) took place.

Then, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the Memorial Complex "Halk Hakydasy", where he laid flowers at the "Baky Şöhrat" monument and visited museum “Vatan Mukaddesligi”.

After that the motorcade of the Head of Kazakhstan proceeded to the Monument of Independence of Turkmenistan where the distinguished guest laid flowers and planted a sapling on the Alley of Honored guests.

The President of Turkmenistan and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan considered priority directions of mutually beneficial partnership (mfa.gov.tm)
