TELEPHONE CONVERSATION WAS HELD BETWEEN THE PRESIDENTS OF TURKMENISTAN AND THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN

On October 24, 2021, a telephone conversation took place between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

At the beginning of the dialogue, the Turkmen leader cordially congratulated the head of neighboring country on his election as President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, wishing him good health for many years, prosperity and great success in his responsible work at the highest state post.

Having thanked for the congratulations and kind words, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted with satisfaction the progressive nature of bilateral cooperation, which has gained special development in modern times across the entire spectrum of interaction.

Heads of two friendly states noted the positive dynamics of interstate dialogue in the context of implementations of agreements reached during the negotiations at the highest level during the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan on October 4-5, which allowed reaching new frontiers in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The parties confirmed their interest in diversifying mutually beneficial relations that have a huge, time-demanded potential.

Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev also spoke in favor of further development of contacts in the humanitarian sphere, in particular, for the promotion of scientific, educational and cultural relations, cooperation in the field of sports and tourism.

At the end of the conversation, the heads of the two countries expressed confidence that relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, due to joint efforts, would continue to develop dynamically and deepen in the spirit of mutually beneficial cooperation for the benefit of our states and peoples.
