FOREIGN LANGUAGES OPEN A WINDOW ON THE WORLD

A scientific and practical conference confined to the 4th anniversary of adoption of the Concept of improving the teaching of foreign languages was held in the Turkmen State Institute of Culture.

The basis of the event formed a topic of the Turkmen culture in the world society, which was widely covered due to performances in foreign languages of the students of the creative institute. The student of some faculties demonstrated for audience the informative, fascinating presentations, dedicated to the national cultural heritage.

The students talked about the glorified, rightly won international acclaim, unique Traditional Turkmen Carpet Making Art. The amusive journey into the history became the presentation of the Kushtdepdi rite of singing and dancing, entered into the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Regard was paid to the theme of the neutrality of Turkmenistan, to the United Nations, to the 140th anniversary of the beautiful Ashgabat city, the unique architectural pearls of which was entered the Guinness World Records. The forum participants demonstrated in their performances the deep awareness of the theme and good knowledge of foreign languages. And that would mean that the tasks assigned within the framework of the national Conception and related to the innovative methods of language teaching are carried out.

As you know, the Concept of improving the teaching of foreign languages in Turkmenistan was adopted on 22 December, 2017. In accordance with the activity plan on its implementation, 4 years ago the large-scaled work was started in the renewed format in the educational environment. The Conception implementation which primarily has three stages, today is at the third stage.

At the first stage, in 2018, the world experience on the methodical support was actively examined, the state standards, the training programs and curriculum on all levels of the educational process were improved. At the second stage (2019-2020) the system of training and advanced training of teachers, and the entire learning and teaching base in this field were improved. The target of the third, final stage (2021-2024), consists in necessity to create the continuous, successive and interrelated foreign languages teaching system in Turkmenistan.
