On 3rd December this year, the whole world celebrates the International Day of Disabled Persons for the twenty-ninth time. In 1992, the General Assembly, with the aim of integrating people with disabilities into society, called on UN member states to hold events annually to commemorate this event.

Since then, the Turkmen Society of the Blind and Deaf has regularly held a variety of shows, competitions and exhibitions dedicated to this significant date. So this time, in the spacious foyer of the Society's creative workshops, shows, competitions were held, as well as an exhibition of works by people with hearing and vision impairments was launched.

The marks were presented by competent jury members from the Academy of Arts and the Institute of Culture of Turkmenistan.

The organizers announced in advance the nominations and conditions of various competitions, including the production of souvenirs, paintings, handicrafts, embroidery, etc. In addition, the participants competed in writing poetry, writing essays, and performing songs.

Members of the Society from all regions of the republic took part in the review-exhibition. Cash prizes and other awards awaited the winners.

The winners in their nominations were: M. Kadyrova from Bayramali (essay "Arkadagym Bilen Vatan Gulleyar"), A. Khudaykulieva and M. Kulov from Balkanabat (song duet), A. Ataeva from Mary (embroidery, handicrafts), M. Khandzhiev from the Balkan velayat (national products).

The greatest sympathy of the audience was caused by the performance of the youngest participants of the show - the song duet Anastasia Khudaykuliyeva and Maksat Kulov, who sang the song "You are my heart".

The holiday, which was attended by numerous Ashgabat residents and guests of the capital, was held in a lively, good-natured and warm atmosphere.
