PARLIAMENTARIANS OF TURKMENISTAN TOOK PART IN THE UNICEF REGIONAL CONSULTATIVE EVENT

The representatives of the Mejlis of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan in the high-level Regional consultative event for Europe and Central Asia.
The online meeting was organized by the Regional department of UNICEF in European and Central Asian countries for the expansion and systemization of cooperation of UNICEF with the parliamentarians to achieve the results for benefit of children and youth in different fields. It provided a platform for the experience and knowledge exchange, making specific commitments at the country levels on achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in Europe and Central Asia.
Besides members of parliaments representing the countries of Europe and Central Asia, the representatives of the Interparliamentary Union, youth, UN experts on issues of rights took part in the event.
In its turn, the Turkmen parliamentarians exchanged experience of Turkmenistan on interaction of the parliament members with children, measures taken in the national level for support of participation of the parliamentarians for the well-being of children.
The participants also shared ideas on form that should take the regional parliament platform of interaction for more effective ensuring effective interaction of the parliamentarians of all region.
It should be noted, that the parliamentaries of the region of Europe and Central Asia have a rich history of relations with UNICEF as the allies defending and promoting children's rights. By acting as legislators, parliamentarians can have a long-term positive impact on the well-being of children across the region.
Parliamentarians of Turkmenistan took part in the UNICEF Regional consultative event
