INTERNATIONAL STUDENT OLYMPIAD IN CHEMISTRY INVITES PARTICIPANTS

The International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakaev will hold the International Internet Chemistry Olympiad 2022, in which students of higher educational institutions of our country and abroad are invited to participate.

The organizing university will begin registration of participants this week, from March 20. Acceptance of applications for participation in the Olympiad will continue for a month and will end on April 20.

The Olympiad will be held online on the Moodle platform of the official educational portal of the university. The intellectual review will be held in three languages: Turkmen, Russian and English in the format of individual and team competitions.

The individual tour will divide the participants into two categories. The first will include students specializing in the study of chemistry, the second will unite those for whom the subject is not a profile. No more than five students can be involved in each category.

The competition for experts in chemistry will be held on May 4, on the same day the results of the competition will be announced. The winners of the team and individual rounds will be the participants who scored the most points at the end of the competition.

According to the organizing committee of the event, during the Olympiad, participants will be provided with reference materials, such as the Periodic Table of Mendeleev, the Table of Solubility, and the Series of Standard Potentials. Students are also allowed to use a calculator while working. Participants will have to cope with the tasks of the competition within 180 minutes (3 hours).

It remains to be added that the presentation of diplomas to the winners and prize-winners of the International Student Review in Chemistry is scheduled for May 20.
