AGENCY «TURKMENARAGATNASHYK» AND UNDP SIGNED A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
In order to expand cooperation in the field of digital transformation of public administration, the «Turkmenaragatnashyk» Agency of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Development Program signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The implementation of the agreement implies the introduction of a system of interdepartmental electronic interaction in the country, including the design and development of the system, the improvement of the legal framework for a full-fledged one, as well as the increase of national potential in the field of digital transformation of public administration. The document will also contribute to the implementation of the «Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2019-2025» and the «State Program for the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025».
«We live in a rapidly changing world where new technologies and innovative solutions play an ever greater role. As part of the implementation of the new Cooperation Plan between UNDP and the Government of Turkmenistan for 2021-2025. we will pay special attention to enhancing the country's digital capacity in statistics, banking, finance, customs procedures, civil registration and other public services in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals,» said Narine Sahakyan, UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan.
The Memorandum will also support UNDP's global efforts to accelerate digital transformation, in line with the recently launched Digital Strategy 2022-2025.
