The final of the Francophonie-2022 competition and the solemn ceremony of awarding the winners and prize-winners within its framework was held at the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly. The event was held under the auspices of the French Institute in Turkmenistan (FIT).

Traditionally, the participants of the competition were fans of the French language - schoolchildren and students of the capital's secondary and higher educational institutions studying French, as well as students of FIT, visitors to its library and others who wish to demonstrate their knowledge and abilities.

It should be noted that the International Day of Francophonie is celebrated annually on March 20 and unites all French-speaking inhabitants of the planet, all those who study and love the French language. This day marks the creation in 1970 of the International Organization for Cooperation of the Francophone Countries of the World (OIF), which today has 88 member countries.

Traditionally, within the framework of this holiday, a Francophonie creative competition is announced, designed to stimulate and develop the desire to learn French among young people, as well as to popularize the historical and cultural traditions of France.

This year, the competition is accompanied by a significant joint date for Turkmenistan and France - the 30th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations. On the occasion of this event, Francophonie - 2022 is dedicated to the theme “French-speaking travelers in Central Asia”, which at the same time emphasizes the importance of the rich and friendly Turkmen-French relations that have historically developed more than a century ago. The competition was held in three categories: “Composition”, “Photography” and “Theatrical Art”.

At TSU named after Magtymguly, where, in particular, the performances of the finalists of the theater competition were presented, all the participants were congratulated by the guests who had gathered that day. Among them are representatives of the State University, which successfully trains specialists in the French language, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Turkmenistan (Armenia is a member of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF)), as well as organizers, partners of the event and others.

For each of the nominations, the winners and prize-winners were named - the owners of the first, second and third places.

Let's name the winners of the competition, which were students of the capital's secondary schools. So, the first places were won: in the theater competition - Timur Amanov, a 9th grade student of school № 27; in the essay competition - Leyla Jumageldiyeva, a student of the 8th grade of school № 43; in the photography contest - Kirill Melehov, a 6th grade student of school № 7. The winners and prize-winners of creative competitions were awarded valuable prizes from partners and sponsors of the project.

We emphasize that in the education system of Turkmenistan, special attention is paid to the study of foreign languages, including French. As you know, French is the fifth most common language in the world, the second most studied and the most used language of diplomacy. There are 300 million French speakers worldwide, the vast majority of whom in many countries are under the age of 30.
