IMPROVING THE MEDICAL SYSTEM IN TURKMENISTAN

The Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, together with the Country Office of the World Health Organization, organized a training course on the introduction of monitoring of the safety management of anti-tuberculosis drugs into the national tuberculosis control program.

The training was conducted by the experts of the WHO Regional Office for Europe (Europe) in the field of drug-resistant tuberculosis management and pharmacovigilance, Dr. Alena Skrakhina and Dr. Svetlana Setkina, as part of the implementation of the National Program for Effective Tuberculosis Control in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025.

Monitoring involves examining patients during treatment, identifying all adverse deviations in their condition, and taking measures to stop adverse reactions. This, in turn, contributes to the further improvement of the patient-oriented approach in the treatment of patients with tuberculosis and to an increase in the effectiveness of the work of specialists in protecting the health of the country's population. After all, ensuring safe and effective treatment of patients is one of the important goals of the healthcare system and the provision of medical care to the population.
