THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN HIGHLY APPRECIATED THE TURKMEN-UZBEK COOPERATION IN REGIONAL AFFAIRS

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov highly appreciated the Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation in regional affairs. The head of state said this during negotiations with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who arrived in Ashgabat on an official visit.

"Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are fully aware of the responsibility that lies with them in regional affairs, in creating an atmosphere of genuine good neighborliness and mutual understanding here, maintaining a stable balance of interests, and preventing conflicts," noted the head of state.

According to him, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan see this as a guarantee and the main condition for accelerated economic growth in Central Asia, the implementation of large-scale international infrastructure projects here, the promotion of trade relations, the attraction of long-term foreign investments, and the transformation of the region into one of the centers of economic development on the continent.

Also, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized that the most effective and fruitful embodiment of such a partnership is the mechanism of Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia, which provides opportunities for developing timely and specific agreed decisions based on the interests of all participants.
