HALK MASLAHATY - A POLICY OF NEUTRALITY, PEACEFULNESS AND GOOD NEIGHBORLINESS

At the meeting of the Presidium of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, held on 18 July this year National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman the highest representative body of the people's power of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that “following the policy neutrality, peacefulness and good neighborliness, as well as the principle of "Dialogue - Guarantee of Peace”, Halk Maslahaty must carry out multi-vector work on international affairs, actively participate in achieving mutual understanding between states and peoples, in the development of new cooperation formats.

In this context, it was noted that one of the main tasks is activation and expansion of international dialogue with the countries of the world.

Turkmenistan, following the precepts of ancestors, from the very first days of independence firmly adheres to these postulates.

At the forefront, first of all, is the building of strong friendly and good neighborly relations with neighboring countries.

Initially, pursuing a multi-vector policy based on the principles neutrality, the country, using the opportunities of cooperation in the most various formats, actively participates in achieving mutual understanding between states and peoples.

The country also participates in many other associations of economic and humanitarian and cultural orientation.

Another sign of adherence to these principles will soon be Summit announced by the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan Presidents of Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, who will be held in Ashgabat in early August this year.

There is no doubt that the meeting of the leaders of the three states will give an additional impetus to intensify mutual cooperation for the benefit of peoples of the region.
